One of the oldest communities in southwestern Indiana, Newburgh is nestled on the scenic banks of the Ohio River, just a few miles east of Evansville, Indiana. History

John Sprinkle landed here in the spring of 1803, having floated down the Ohio River by flat boat, a mere 13 years before Indiana joined the Union. He started the first settlement in became Warrick County, in what was originally called Sprinklesburg and the community grew to be the largest river port between Cincinnati and New Orleans by 1850.

Newburgh grew at a steady pace during the latter half of the 20th century with the increase in industry in neighboring Evansville, will major employers including Alcoa, Toyota, Atlas Van Lines and many more businesses that call this Ohio area home. Today, Newburgh offers a lively historic district for residents and visitors, making it a great place to live and play!
